Congratulations to our 2024 Award Dinner Winners!

On April 16th, 2024, Lakeland Leads held its second annual Awards Dinner at Bonnet Springs Park to honor educators and Polk County academies and their dedication to creating meaningful workforce learning opportunities in Polk County.

During the evening, we awarded four prestigious honors to academies and business partners for their dedication and partnerships throughout the year. For the teachers and academies, we congratulated Lake Gibson High School, Tenoroc High School, George Jenkins High School, Kathleen High School & Lakeland High School as they accepted their much-deserved recognition!

In addition, we celebrated the success of partnerships with local businesses that engage with these schools and academies. We were thrilled to welcome Ryan Rogers, SVPII/Regional Manager at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, and Ryan Dell, President of IDX, to the stage to accept awards for their commitment and dedication to inspiring and educating students in Polk County.

During the evening, we also had Pam Stewart, former Florida Department of Education Commissioner, join us for an enlightening and engaging fireside chat and Q&A from the audience about changes in education. She emphasized how important community and business engagement are, and spoke briefly on the challenges and positives of A.I. in school systems. Her talk was inspiring and informative, and we are grateful to have had her join us for this amazing event of celebrations.

Congratulations to all our winners at the Lakeland Leads Annual Award Dinner! Your achievements and contributions to our community are truly inspiring.
