Dr. Pam Craven, Executive Director of the Learning Resource Center of Polk County
Pamela Craven is a professional educator with over 50 years of intense instructional and administrative involvement in the field of education, both in the public and private sectors. She is in her 22nd year as Executive Director of the Learning Resource Center of Polk County, a 48-year-old community-based collaboration of educators that serves the academic needs of pre-schoolers through adults. She has taught in elementary, middle school, and high school classrooms for over 22 years. She served as Executive Director for a Sylvan Learning Center franchise, and she was a consultant for Sylvan Learning Center Corporate. She is an adjunct professor with Florida Southern College’s Masters of Education and Doctor of Education graduate programs. She has also taught in Polk State College’s Early Childhood Programs.
Dr. Craven received an AA Degree from the University of Florida, a Bachelor’s Degree in English-Journalism Education in 1967, and a Master of Education Degree in 1988 from the University of South Florida. She began her doctoral studies in Interdisciplinary Studies, however switching to Adult Education in 1993. In December 2000, she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education from USF.
Pam Craven has a broad background in educational reform, serving on task forces and advisory boards. Her area of training specialization is learning styles, effective teaching strategies, and integrated curriculum. She works closely with other non-profits through the United Way of Central Florida Agency Directors’ Council and serves on several UWCF’s leadership committees. She has served on the Leadership Lakeland Alumni Board (Class XX), Leadership Polk Alumni Board (Class II), Public Education Partnership Advisory Board, and Noah’s Ark Board. She is a member of United Way of Central Florida’s Education Committee. She also is involved with the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, The Lakeland Rotary Club, Phi,Delta Kappa International, and Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society.
Stacy Campbell-Domineck, President and CEo of CareerSource Polk
Stacy Campbell-Domineck is President and CEO of CareerSource Polk, a non-profit organization that provides employment and training services and is the leading convenor for developing workforce strategies to address talent demands in Florida’s fastest-growing county.
Stacy also has held administrator roles at the University of Florida and Florida Southern College where she honed her expertise in counseling, executive coaching, motivational speaking, training, facilities and process management, leadership development and strategic planning. With over 27 years of experience in leadership and management in workforce development and higher education, she has distinguished herself as a creative, solutions-focused leader who inspires her team and partners to achieve excellence. In her community, Stacy actively serves in leadership roles supporting workforce and economic development, education, healthcare access and children’s services.
A Mississippi native, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and counseling from Mississippi State University. Stacy also has completed all coursework toward a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
